Hosts Monitoring - Memory

This documentation page of the LoriotPro Software concerns the WEB interface of the product.

In addition to its graphical interface in Windows™, the LoriotPro software integrates an HTTP server and thus offers a multi-user GUI in a WEB interface. The data collected by the software in SNMP or by other means are accessible via this interface. Numerous charts, histograms, tables, assist you and give you information of states and of performance on the infrastructure monitored.

Terminology reminder: Hosts are devices of all types having an IP address and must be declared in the directory of LoriotPro.

This menu option displays the table and histogram of the memory spaces used by this host.

The control of the memory used by a host with LoriotPro in SNMP implies that this Host is equipped with an SNMP agent supporting the HOST-RESOURCE-MIB. ( https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2790). Microsoft's Unix, Linux and Windows systems support it.

To access this information, select the Memory option in the Hosts Monitoring menu, a host that has been previously selected in the directory.

The available memory is displayed for each type

Memory Type:

• Physical memory is the total memory installed on the device  in the form of electronic components. RAM, ROM, EERPOM, FLASH, etc.
• The concept of virtual memory used by the operating system to extend (virtually) physical memory and thus to run more programs by replacing the unused memory area (page) by a disk file. The physical memory is extended by using a file on the hard disk (called paging file or swap).

Total Size shows the total size available
Used indicates the currently used memory size.
